Georgia Adamson Maintains World-Class Resume Writing Credential

Press Release

SAN JOSE, CA, January 2012: Georgia Adamson, owner of San Jose/Campbell-based A Successful Career, is better prepared than ever to provide job seekers with the powerful tools they need in today's highly competitive job market. Adamson recently renewed her designation as a Master Resume Writer - the most rigorous certification obtainable in the resume-writing industry, signifying mastery of the art and science of resume writing. By completing the recertification requirements, administered by Career Thought Leaders Consortium, Adamson remains a member of an elite group with fewer than 30 MRWs worldwide.

To initially earn the MRW requires that a resume writer has completed a minimum of five years of paid professional resume-writing experience, passed a rigorous English language and grammar examination, and submitted a comprehensive portfolio of 10 resume-writing case studies with before-and-after transformations. Case studies must represent a breadth of industries and professions, including senior/executive-level job seekers.

"Like many others, my clients are facing steep challenges in the employment market these days," says Adamson, "and even after more than 15 years in the career field, I wanted to be sure I was equipping them with the very best strategies and documents. My qualification as Master Resume Writer means my clients can enter the job search with cofidence, knowing they have the best, most powerful, and most up-to-date resumes to accelerate their job search."

Through A Successful Career, Adamson serves a diverse clientele of primarily senior management and executive individuals, located throughout the United States and around the world. In addition to professional resumes, she provides them with a wide range of career marketing tools that include LinkedIn profiles, executive bios, and career/interview coaching tips and techniques.

Findings Released from 2011 Global Career Brainstorming Day
Are Resumes a Thing of the Past? And More

Press Release

SAN JOSE/CAMPBELL, CA, February 15, 2012 – Are resumes a thing of the past? Will Facebook supplant LinkedIn? Are “green” careers still on the rise? What’s the best job search tactic in today’s competitive market?

These topics, and dozens more, were explored at the second annual Global Career Brainstorming Day in October 2011. Now Career Thought Leaders Consortium (CTL) has compiled the findings into “The Now, The New, and The Next in Careers,” a white paper reporting insights from career professionals in the US, UK, and Canada.

Brainstorming Day participants included career coaches, career counselors, resume writers, college and university career professionals, military transition specialists, and others who work on the front lines of the employment industry. Their insights – based on daily interactions with job seekers and hiring authorities worldwide – reveal dynamic changes in the way we work today, and the way we’ll work tomorrow.

Georgia Adamson of A Successful Career, Campbell/San Jose, CA, was among the career professionals who brainstormed the ideas, trends, and best practices shared in this report. “It was exciting to spend a day really thinking about our industry – what has changed and what we think will change in the months and years ahead,” said Adamson. “I learned new ideas to help my clients, and I’m really proud to help define the now, the new, and the next in our industry.”

Brief highlights of the extensive findings include:

* Resumes remain the dominant document for job transition, but LinkedIn profiles are rapidly rising in importance. In fact, in certain situations, they are already more important than resumes.
* Cover letters are evolving into shorter, sharper messages that can be quickly scanned on a smart phone.
* Job seekers are challenged to make a “perfect” keyword match to rise to the top of automated Applicant Tracking Systems – and new services are rising to help them game the system.
* QR codes that point to a web portfolio of consolidated Google findings are popping up on business cards, resumes, and other career documents.
* GenY workers have a totally different career mindset than Baby Boomers. Freelance, contract, part-time, and interim positions are normal to younger workers, and this trend of “portfolio” careers will continue to grow.

First-Ever Conference Hosted by Career Thought Leaders Consortium

Press Release:

Local Career Practitioner Learns Cutting-Edge Career Management Strategies

CAMPBELL, CA, April 2, 2010 - Georgia Adamson, Certified Job Search Strategist and Master Resume Writer, A Successful Career in Campbell, CA, was one of 150 career practitioners who attended the 2010 Career Thought Leaders Conference & Symposium at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore, March 22-24, to learn cutting-edge career strategies, trends and solutions to help their clients take control of their careers.

With unemployment rates at historic highs and rapid changes in how companies source candidates, it is essential for both experienced and new career professionals to be fully equipped to help job seekers manage a full-throttle job search efficiently and effectively.

While resumes are still a must-have document for job seekers, they are only the tip of the iceberg. Speakers urged career experts like Ms. Adamson to become career communications managers who can equip job seekers with social media profiles, personal branded bios, electronic career portfolios and other next-generation documents.

Additional conference content focused on social media and online identity, two critical areas for success in today's job market. Job seekers who contribute powerful, relevant content about their industry or area of expertise are more likely to attract recruiters, hiring managers and other professionals to their Twitter, FaceBook and LinkedIn pages than those who don't.

Ms. Adamson, a Credentialed Career Manager, partners with mid-to-senior management and executive clients to develop high-impact career management strategies and powerfully focused career-related documents.
